According to a report by Jasmin Gabriel-Galban of GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Monday, the incident took place inside the siblings’ home in Barangay Bari.

Police said the suspect, Rafael Caoile, became enraged when he was woken up by his 44-year-old brother, Monny Caoile, who went to his room to inform him that his child was rushed to the hospital due to difficulty breathing.

After returning to his room, Monny was allegedly attacked by Rafael.

Their mother, Flora, said Rafael entered Monny’s room and began stabbing him repeatedly.

Despite his injuries, Monny managed to run outside to ask for help. However, the suspect chased after him and smashed his head against a wall, fatally injuring him.

The victim was later declared dead.

Authorities also learned that Monny had been drinking prior to the incident. It remains unclear if this played a role in the altercation.

According to Police Captain Vicente Abrazaldo of the Mangaldan Police Station, Rafael Caoile is now facing charges of h&micide for the fatal attack on his brother.

The tragic incident has shocked the local community, especially given the fact that it occurred between siblings and during a time of family crisis.
