Netizens, nanawagan din para sa kaligtasan at proteksiyon ni Emil Sumangil.
Netizens take to social media to express their concern for the safety and protection of 24 Oras anchor Emil Sumangil because of his series of interviews and reports about the missing sabungeros case.

Marami ang nababahala sa kaligtasan ngayon ng seasoned broadcast journalist at 24 Oras anchor na si Emil Sumangil.
Ito ay kasunod ng sunud-sunod niyang ulat at panayama kay Julie “Dondon” Patidongan o Alias Totoy tungkol sa mga nalalaman umano nito sa pagkawala ng mga sabungero mula pa noong Enero 2022.
Napanood ang series of reports ni Emil tungkol sa maselang isyung ito sa 24 Oras at iba pang news programs ng GMA-7 nitong mga nakalipas na araw.
Si Emil ang naging instrumento kaya nalaman ng publiko ang kuwento tungkol sa mga naglahong sabungero at diumano’y itinapon ang mga bangkay sa Taal Lake.
Sa nasabing panayam ay pinangalanan ni Patidongan ang negosyante at gambling tycoon na si Charlie “Atong” Ang bilang “mastermind” umano sa kaso ng missing sabungeros.
Idinawit din ni Patidongan ang aktres na si Gretchen Barretto at ilang miyembro ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
ATONG ANG ACCUSES GMA-7 OF ONE-SIDED REPORTING
Sa press conference ni Atong noong Huwebes, Hulyo 3, 2025, inakusahan niya ng hindi balanseng pamamahayag ang GMA Integrated News.
Ayon sa negosyante, hindi nito kinuha o hiningi ang kanyang panig kaugnay ng mga alegasyon ni Patidongan.
Bahagi ng pahayag ni Atong: “Lalo na sa Channel 7, nakikiusap ako sa media, gawin ninyong fair lang. Katulad niyan, hindi naman naririnig yung side namin.
“Kahapon lang, isipin ninyo, biglang inilabas nila na sinusuhulan ko si Dondon.

Buong-buong inilabas ng GMA Integrated News ang mga pahayag at hinaing ni Atong laban sa kanila.
Nanindigan din ang GMA na kinuha nila ang panig ng kampo ni Atong, ngunit sumagot lamang daw ang mga ito pagkatapos umere ng kanilang ulat tungkol sa mga alegasyon ni Patidongan.
EMIL SUMANGIL’S WIFE PRAYER REQUEST
Samantala, nanawagan ang mga sumusuporta kay Emil sa mga kinauukulan na protektahan ang broadcaster.
Nanagangamba umano sila sa kaligtasan nito dahil sa matapang nitong reports tungkol sa mga nawawalang sabungero.
Ngayong Biyernes ng gabi, Hulyo 4, naglabas naman ng personal prayer request ang misis ni Emil na si Michelle Sumangil para sa kaligtasan ng kanyang asawa.
Ang dasal ni Michelle ang pasasalamat at sagot nito sa mga nagmamalasakit kay Emil.
Mensahe niya: “We would like to thank the netizens who first initiated and called for the safety and protection of my husband, Emil Sumangil.
“Your concern, prayers, and vigilance brought light and strength to us during this time.”
