Driver na nakapatay ng anak ng OFW at 1 pa sa NAIA, nakalaya na matapos magpiyansa

Pansalamantalang nakalaya matapos magpiyansa ang driver ng SUV na sumalpok sa mga tao sa departure area sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), na ikinawi ng dalawang biktima–kabilang ang isang batang anak ng isang papaalis na overseas Filipino worker.
Ayon kay Philippine National Police – Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) Public Information Office chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Lizel Dimaandal, nakalaya ang driver na nakadetine sa NAIA Police Station 1, alinsunod sa kautusan mula sa Regional Trial Court, National Capital Region, Branch 109, Pasay City nitong Huwebes.
“The accused posted corresponding cash bond amounting to PhP100,000.00 for his provisional liberty,” ayon kay Dimaandal.
Ayon pa sa opisyal, bago pinalaya, isinailalim muna sa physical at medical examination sa Pasay City General Hospital ang driver upang masuri ang kaniyang kalagayan at matiyak na wala siyang tinamong injury sa panahon na nasa pangangalaga ng kapulisan.
Mayo 4, nang salpukin ng 47-anyos na driver na mula sa Batangas ang mga tao sa Departure West Curbside Area ng NAIA Terminal 1, na ikinasawi ng dalawang biktima, at ikinasugat ng apat na iba pa.
Nabigong pigilan ng mga nalagay na “bollards” o harang na bakal ang SUV na tumama sa mga tao, na sa obserbasyon ng ilang eksperto ay mababaw ang pagkakalagay.
Nauna nang iniutos ng Malacañang na kasama sa iimbestigahan sa nangyaring trahediya ang mga inilagay na bollards.
