Kris Aquino recently opened up about her hopes and dreams for her son, Bimby.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz during Bimby’s 18th birthday, the “Queen of All Media” expressed her desire for Bimby to pursue higher education abroad.

“This is my dream that did not happen. I hope he gets to fulfill it,” she said.

“Parang iniisip ko parati, ano kaya naging trajectory ng buhay ko kung talagang nag-aral ako abroad, and so I want him to experience that.”

Kris also proudly shared that Bimby is naturally thrifty, a trait she believes will serve him well in adulthood.

“Sinabi ko na, ‘Thank you, God! May isang matipid sa amin.’ Kasi maruong siya sa pera niya talaga. Bigyan mo siya ng P50,000, two months tatagal sa kanya.”

“I want Bimb to be an inspiration for other kids. Normally kasi ‘di ba ang nag-aalaga nanay sa anak. Na-reverse na ‘yan talaga.”

The conversation also turned toward Bimby’s potential career path. Kris revealed that she hopes to see her son sworn in as mayor.

“Because gusto niya, marunong siya maki-deal sa lahat ng tao. Sobrang honest nito so hindi ‘yan talaga magnanakaw at all, and magaling mag-budget so maaalagaan niya ‘yung mga tao.”

When asked if he wanted to enter politics, Bimby called it his “destiny” and “calling.”

“It’s always an option kasi sabi ni lola, my mom said, ‘Everyone in the family who entered politics, it is a calling.’ Syempre, it’s not an easy job, but it’s a job that can help so many people,” he said in a separate interview on Erin Diaz’s YouTube channel.

In the same video, Bimby revealed that he plans to study Legal Management.

“Magiging lawyer na ako. Imagine mo, Atty. Bimb. Kasi diverse eh. Let’s be honest, sa business, sa politics and in showbiz, also,” he told Diaz.

In Kris’ March 16 post, she called Bimby her “source of strength” and that she was “blessed with a son who will do all to lessen his mama’s physical [and] emotional suffering.” Along with this, she shared a photo of Bimby carrying her to the bathroom.

In January 2024, Kris said that Bimby “needed” to work to help out with her medical bills.

The former actress recently shared that she’s now battling nine autoimmune diseases: autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, EPGA, systemic sclerosis/scleroderma, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease.

“Five of [my autoimmune diseases] can cause my death. That has been hard to process. But I am slowly learning to leave everything to God’s will because He knows best,” Kris wrote on April 7.

Bimby was born on April 19, 2007 to Kris and her ex-husband, basketball player James Yap.
