Accidents are inevitable on Metro Manila’s busy roads, and recently, Yassi Pressman‘s driver figured in a vehicular collision on November 21, 2023.

Yassi’s car happened to damage the vehicle of Raymart Guinto, a Grab driver, who on December 1 took to Raffy Tulfo In Action to seek help.

“Ito pong driver ni Ma’am Yassi nasa likod ko po, nasa stoplight po kami,” Raymart recalled. “Nagsabi po siya sa akin na nung time na binangga niya po ako, nagte-text po siya. So nagmamadali po siya.”

Raymart said that Yassi had spoken to him on the day of the accident and had promised to pay for the damages once she sees an estimate. When this was available, however, Raymart said he could no longer reach Yassi’s driver. He had been unable to work for 11 days already and had lost around P22,000 in earnings, as his car’s trunk had been damaged and this could not be closed properly.

“Tinatawagan ko po sila. Nagri-ring lang po yung cell phone, nagte-text po ako ng nagte-text po sa kanila para po masabi kay Ma’am Yassi na ito yung gagastusin.”

Yassi, whom the program contacted via phone patch, shared that she had no idea as her driver did not inform her. Also, she had already terminated him from work for reasons apart from the accident.

The actress apologized and promised she would cover the amount, with extra.

“Wala pong problema, Sir, kahit buuin ko nang P100,000 para ma-cover na rin po,” Yassi promised Raymart.

“Buti nga po pumunta kayo kasi hindi ko po talaga alam,” she added. “Buti na lang po tumawag din po sa ‘kin yung mga nakapanood.”

After two hours, Yassi gave Raymart P100,000, the excess her Christmas gift.
