The evening took a particularly emotional turn when Martin Nievera, the country’s Concert King and one of Pilita’s closest friends in the industry, delivered a moving tribute that left many in the crowd in tears.

“How do you say goodbye to a voice that helped shape generations?” Martin asked as he stood before the urn of the late icon.

Martin, who considered Pilita a mentor and second mother in the music industry, sang one of her signature songs, “Kapantay Ay Langit,” his voice cracking with emotion.

He also shared fond memories of working with Pilita on stage and off, describing her as “a woman of elegance, strength, and unmatched wit.”
