Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes took to Instagram to honor the late National Artist and Philippine cinema icon Nora Aunor, who recently passed away at the age of 71. In a heartfelt tribute, Dingdong shared his memories of working with Aunor in the 2015 GMA series Pari ‘Koy, describing the experience as one of the most unforgettable moments in his career.

Dingdong recalled the day he learned that Aunor would guest-star in the show, calling it a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation. “It was around mid-season of Pari ‘Koy when they announced we’d have a special guest. I didn’t expect it would be the Nora Aunor,” he wrote.

The scene they filmed together—shot in front of Father Kokoy’s church under pouring rain—was scheduled late into the night. Directed by the late Maryo J. delos Reyes, it was an intense and emotional setup, and Dingdong admitted he was anxious about performing alongside a legend.

However, what left a lasting impression on him was not just Aunor’s talent, but her grace and humility. During a break, instead of retreating to her tent, Aunor chose to sit beside him on a simple monoblock chair. They shared a quiet conversation about “nothing in particular, and maybe everything that mattered in that moment.”

“She didn’t make me feel like I had to prove anything,” he wrote. “She was generous with her presence—not just in the scene, but in that in-between space where actors wait and breathe.”

Dingdong expressed how that short moment with Aunor left a deep impact on him. “It’s that kind of grace that stays with you,” he said, calling her a true legend—not only for her incredible body of work, but for the humility with which she carried it.
