National artist Nora Aunor and Richard Merck got married in the United States, and the actor confirmed this.

Philippine cinema superstar Nora Aunor died on April 16 at exactly 9:53 PM. She was 71 years old, and this sad news was confirmed by her son, Ian De Leon. Several celebrities and famous personalities mourned her death.

According to her son, Aunor’s cause of death was acute respiratory failure, technically and clinically speaking. She didn’t die during the operation, and during her final moments, she was surrounded by her children.

Among those who spoke about her with a revelation was actor Richard Merck. In an interview, he was saddened by the death of the superstar. For him, he lost his ex-wife. They got married in Las Vegas, and they never went back to Vegas to divorce.

They have a lot of fond memories, and apart from their music collaboration, he recalled that they were also a fun couple. They were together for three years, and as per reports, they got married on July 7, 1988. This is based on the record from the Marriage Inquiry System of Clark County in Nevada, US.

In the three years that they were together, he became her singing coach and even rearranged her song “What Now, My Love.”

She was a supportive partner, and he would always do what she told him. Being with her, he shared that she liked eating inside the room, she loved sinigang, and she also liked giving gifts.

About the wake and burial

According to actress Lotlot de Leon, the public viewing at The Chapels at Heritage Park will be held on April 19 and 20. The interment will be held on April 22 at Libingan ng mga Bayani, and the “state funeral details to follow.”

The viewing for friends and family was also scheduled.
