Matet De Leon dedicated a brief yet touching message for her adoptive mother, Superstar Nora Aunor, who passed away on April 16 at the age of 71.

In an Instagram post, Matet shared two throwback photos with her mom and simply captioned it, “I love you mommy.”

In the comments section, Matet received messages of condolences from fellow celebrities and personalities such as Claudine Barretto, Nikki Valdez, Eula Valdes, Kitkat, Vance Larena, Mon Confiado, and Krissy Achino.

Nora Aunor’s death was announced by her son, Ian De Leon, in a social media post.

“With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Nora C. Villamayor ‘Nora Aunor’ who left us on today April 16, 2025 at the age of 71.

“She was the heart of our family — a source of unconditional love, strength, and warmth. Her kindness, wisdom, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever,” he wrote.
